PROGRAM NOTE
The composer reflects - "I can still remember the first time I heard a trombone choir playing Ewazen's Posaunenstadt during my undergraduate. Wow! The power and intensity of that piece took my breath away and inspired me to want to compose for trombone ensemble. "A Call for Courage" is a short fanfare commissioned by my good friend Steve Wolfinbarger who teaches at Western Michigan University. It is my hope that this music can inspire courage in each of us as we face our unique challenges in life."
