PROGRAM NOTE
In a recent lesson, one of my high school age composition students exclaimed, “Get more epic!” after learning a new skill. I’ve heard the kids of today say “epic” or even “totally epic” but this expression added another layer of epic-ness; as if “epic” alone was not big enough to communicate his excitement, he had to get more of it! ha ha. This made me pause and ask myself, “What if epic was a thing you could get more of? Like go to the store and pick up some epic? Or order a shipment of epic-ness from amazon to be delivered tomorrow? Or even better, to have a dial implanted on your body and all you have to do is turn it and instantly your life is more epic!?” That would be so cool. I mean sooooooo totally epic. I mean… get more epic!
