5 part Flex Ensemble (with percussion and audio track) Style: Chillstep (electronic dance music) groove Duration: 5:30 minutes Grade: 3 √ Play-along audio track Audio track can quickly and easily be brought into bandlab.com or soundtrap.com and students can record their parts. This work is a five minute sonic meditation to invite unity and connectedness with the earth and those around us. Created in collaboration with the students of LaFayette Junior/Senior High School and their director Brittany Cole, Earth Resonance contains sounds from nature as recorded by the students. The instrumental parts combine with the recorded soundscape to form a calming, peaceful, minimalist groove in the style of “chillstep”, a sub-genre of dubstep. This work is a reminder to slow down, take a deep breath, and take a moment to listen to the earth and the people around you. |
